Open for business!

Ok, well, this is my first blog. I finally got around to blogging about my craft adventures.

A few weeks ago, I opened a store on Etsy.com. For those of you who don't know, Etsy is a place where arts n' crafters can buy and sell things that are handmade. I have been very inpressed with the things that people sell on there. Even more impressed at thier level of commitment, these people really have a passion for what they do! That's nice to see these days. So, anyway, the site inspired me to try and sell a few little crafts that I've been working on.

Since this is my first ever blog as CKillaDesigns, I'll tell you all a little about myself. I'm 23 years old, I'm from Dayton, Ohio, and I work at a factory there. I started doing little crafts with my mom when I was real young. My Grammy and Grandpa owned a hobby shop at the time and I grew up on model cars, train sets, paint-by-numbers, and candle-making. I've always loved working with my hands and creating things. Even the models and paint-by-numbers never looked like the box! As I got older, I started sewing and drawing. I attended a vocational school in high school for graphic design. Then, the local community college for visual communications, eventhough I never finished. I don't think I ever really wanted to become a graphic designer, but the things I learned there, esspecially the fine arts and computer illustration skills, has given me the knowledge and confidence to do so many things.

Right now if you go to my Etsy store, there isn't much to see. I've listed a few potholder and coaster sets, some vintage buttons, and some simple beaded bracelets. There will be lots more coming soon.

Lately, I've been inspired by my boyfriend's Grandma. She makes the most amazing earings out of glass sead beads. Right now I'm studing and researching and figuring things out. There have been a few expieriments both successful and not so.
